Advanced Flooring Systems (AFS) replaced a failing system with a new high-build and slip resistant flooring system in a busy multi-storey car park in the Gateway Complex, Dublin.
The mixed residential and commercial complex is located in the heart of Dublin’s commercial precinct – The Dublin Docklands – and is the headquarters for Ireland’s Electricity Supply Board (ESB) and many other organisations and families.
The complex features a busy multi-storey car park and the client required a new high build flooring system to replace a previous system which had become extremely slippy underfoot in wet conditions.
With years of experience in providing the complete car park flooring solution, including high build systems, top deck and basement waterproofing, the client turned to AFS. AFS used their in-house surface preparation division to remove the previous system throughout the 5,000 sq metres multi-storey car park. Following preparation, AFS supplied and installed a new MPM high build grip system.
A multi-coloured system was used to help demarcate parking bays, including new electric charge bays and walkways. While line marking and direction arrows were added to help complete the project.
As the client required the car park to stay open during the upgrade, AFS completed the complete project outside normal hours and so ensured the busy city centre car park remained accessible to the public.
