Seating Matters, a specialist worldwide seating manufacturer, required another type of specialist – a flooring contractor to successfully upgrade their main production facility in Limavady. With a long reference list of similar successful upgrade projects, Seating Matters selected Advanced Flooring Systems (AFS).
Seating Matters is a specialist seating manufacturer who improve the comfort and quality of life for those with postural and pressure management needs. With their successful product line, the Limavady manufacturer recently secured a contract with the US Federal Government
To help build on this success, the worldwide seating manufacturer required a flooring contractor who could help them upgrade the existing floor and install a hard wearing and decorative flooring system with R10 anti-slip properties. With a long reference list of similar successful upgrade projects, Seating Matters selected AFS.
AFS’s unique ability is to be able to specify the best flooring system to help suit the project’s requirements rather than promote one particular product manufacturer. After onsite consultation with the client, AFS recommended a MPM Duroglass p5/4 flooring system for the 700m2 project.
AFS always recommend specialised surface preparation for every project to ensure a successful flooring installation. Unlike other flooring contractors, AFS do no subcontract this vital stage out, but rather use their own in-house specialised surface preparation division.
AFS started the project by aggressively preparing the existing concrete substrate using vacuum diamond grinding and AFS’s HTC650 grinder. Vacuum-assisted handheld grinders were also deployed to help prepare edges and small tight areas. Following preparation, AFS then applied two coats of MPM Duroglass FU Rapid primer coat over the prepared concrete substrate.
A MPM Duroglass P5/4 screed was then hand troweled on and allowed to cure. To complete the installation AFS then applied a Duroglass MPM P867 hard wearing polyurethane coating with fine glass bead to give the floor the required R10 anti-slip finish.
