With year’s of car park decking experience, Advanced Flooring Systems (AFS) was selected as the flooring contractor to modernise the main multi-storey town centre car park in Athlone Co Westmeath.
Athlone’s main 2 storey town centre car park required modernisation to help clearly highlight walkways, common areas and bay demarcation. In addition, a key requirement for the client was to ensure the car park remained open during the renovation project.
The client engaged AFS due to their year’s of experience in upgrading and providing the complete car park decking solution including top deck and basement waterproofing. During the project, AFS installed 4,000 square metre of new colour coded walkways, common areas (red and blue for different levels), blue parking bays to highlight disabled parking bays.
In addition, AFS added signage to the new walkways and bays and also reinstated 20,000 linear metres of white line demarcation. As the client required the car park to say open at all time of the renovation, AFS completed the project in stages and at specific times to suit the client with less foot and vehicle traffic.
